NVH properties of lightweight
New materials with optimized damping properties enable an improvement in NVH properties of future vehicle concepts. In research and development, a stronger focus is presently placed on materials for lightweight bodies in hybrid technology such as aluminum, magnesium, titanium, high-strength steels, CFK and organic sheets. This allows future requirements to be realized as per less mass, more security, increased consistency and improved comfort. New simulation methods are required for the virtual design of lightweight bodies with regard to fatigue strength and vibration behavior (bending, torsion). Future thematic research works concentrate also on non-destructive damage detection of fiber reinforced plastics using acoustic measurement technology.
